#47: A Trinity of Horror! FilmOut’s Thrill-O-Rama, San Diego Asian Film Fest’s Asian Extreme, and Horrible Imaginings Film Fest

Hello to all you fans of the frightening!

This is a great episode! My guests include my good friends from two big San Diego Film Festivals who are doing their part to promote the horror genre in San Diego with their own genre film nights. This was a lot of fun to record and I know you will enjoy listening to it!

Michael McQuiggan and Ana Pines join me from FilmOut San Diego to discuss their upcoming Thrill-O-Rama, which is happening NEXT SATURDAY on 10/8 from 12 to 12. It’s a great array of retro horror, including The Fog, Burnt Offerings, The Eyes of Laura Mars, Dressed to Kill, Black Christmas, and Suspiria! Click Here to get discount tickets!

Finally, I discuss my own Horrible Imaginings Film Festival, which is happening on November 4th and 5th. I will be reviving Ishiro Honda’s Godzilla® and Georges Franju’s Eyes Without A Face. I will also be screening the features Long Pigs and The Taint, in addition to 29 short films and music videos. There will also be a full art gallery of twisted art work! I hope to see you there! 1. Erratum, Mr. Rodriguez. I don’t know how long you have lived in San Diego, but the original Japanese Godzilla was RESTORED with English subtitles and REDISTRIBUTED in 2004 by Rialto Pictures! That same year, the Ken screened it for an entire week and I was alble to go see it with a nephew. So no, your planned screening will NOT be the first such of the restored uncensored print in San Diego. Other than that, I look forward to seeing it again, but PLEASE make the correction. Thank you.

  2. I’ve only lived in San Diego for two years. I saw Gojira at the Kennedy Center in 2004 when Rialto first acquired the rights. What I am confused about is that I don’t mention that I’m even screening Gojira in this episode or on any episode yet, so I’m not sure exactly what I have to correct.
