#90: Fatal Pictures’s Zach Green On Producing Film

Hello Listeners! On today’s episode, I discuss the real horror of what happened in Connecticut from my teacher’s perspective. Then, I have a great conversation about the adventures of creating independent film from the perspective of a producer. Zach Green from Fatal Pictures joins me. His production company produced a great short film called Familiar, which screened at this year’s Horrible Imaginings Film Festival. We talk about the process, what film most scared him, practical effects, and more!

Please enjoy and join in the conversation! Fatal Pictures is on Twitter @FatalPictures, and so am I: @MonsterResort!

  2. The intro to your podcast is great. I enjoy your monologue and the surf music.
The health issue you experienced in the early hours of the night sounds frightful. It’s amazing how calm people can be during a health crisis. I also learnt a new word. Uvula. Hmmm.

Your guest from Fatal Pictures in Toronto was enthusiatic and knowledgeable. FAMILIAR sounds like an interesting short. He is correct that film isn’t a business in Canada. We tend to make movies for other countries not ourselves. The government grants are stingy unless you are conventional, know someone, etc. In any case I’m going to watch the short on VOD.

    Thanks for another excellent podcast.
